Our Mission: To bring a series of 6 films tackling the complexity of love, immigration and relationships in the Middle East and abroad. Through these works of art, we aim to engage the audience in discussion and introspection about the strength of universal friendship.
Madison Israel film festival committee:The Madison Israel film festival has taken place in Madison for the past decade exposing the students of UW-Madison and the greater Madison community to contemporary and traditional Israeli films. This year, the committee has drawn from other Israeli Film Fests throughout the country to come up with a list of six films that will leave audiences wanting more. This experience does not end with just a movie screening. Each film will include an additional discussion or speaker, all free of charge. Distinguished professors and speakers are traveling to make sure this years film festival leaves a lasting impression of the power of universal friendship, or "chaverut." This festival aims to show how friendship overcomes any situation and is visible in any culture. The lesson of mutual respect and understanding is a power that the UW-Madison can use to strengthen cultural and religious divisions. There is power in this art, and we invite everyone to participate.
